AEPC Organizes Roadshow for Bharat Tex Expo 2024 at Tirupur and Jaipur

02 January 2024: Roadshow for Bharat Tex 2024 was jointly organized by Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) and IKFA on 21st December at Tirupur. The event witnessed participation of around 125 apparel exporters from the region.

Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General, AEPC in his opening remark, while highlighting the magnitude and uniqueness of BHARAT TEX 2024 explained how it will open doors of opportunities and possibilities for the entire textile value chain of India. He lauded the efforts of the current government to attract investment in MMF segment through PLI, integrate value chain through PM MITRA parks and aid the process of market diversification through FTA negotiations with countries of relevance. He congratulated Tirupur Cluster for focusing on Sustainability and Circularity since long back. He urged the members of the cluster to actively participate in this Textile Extravaganza for taking its fullest advantage.

K. M. Subramanian, President, TEA appreciated the efforts of AEPC and other EPCs for organizing the largest textile show on earth. He assured fullest cooperation of TEA and requested that this may be made an annual event so that Indian manufacturers and exporters could take maximum advantage.

Padma Shri Dr. A. Sakthivel, President FIEO mentioned that BHARAT TEX was the brainchild of the Hon’ble Minister Piyush Goyal. He said that he was quite confident that over 2,000 buyers from 120 nations would visit the expo. He requested Tirupur based exporters to participate in large numbers and advised them to keep a focus on MMF products.

Another, Bharat Tex 2024 Roadshow held in Jaipur on 22nd December 2023 witnessed huge participation from the Jaipur cluster by exporters of textiles and apparel. The event organised by AEPC was supported by GEAR, TEXPROCIL and EPCH.

More than 200 members turned up with great deal of enthusiasm and interest to participate in Bharat Tex Expo 2024. The gathering was addressed by Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General AEPC, Akhilesh Kumar, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Textiles, Lalit Thukral, Chairman IGFA, Smt. Shilpa Gokhru, Joint Commissioner, Industries, Govt of Rajasthan and Zakir Hussain, President GEAR. Dr. Siddhartha Rajagopal, Executive Director, TEXPROCIL gave vote of thanks.

Addressing the gathering Mithileshwar Thakur said, “Bharat Tex 2024 is different from routine Buyer-Seller Meets in its size, dimension, scale, scope and intent. He stated that these biggest textiles show on the globe with 3,500+ exhibitors cutting across entire textiles value chain, 3000 plus reputed international buyers and 40,000+ domestic buyers will be a textile extravaganza of its own kind and is aimed at demonstrating Indian textile story and eco-system to the rest of the world by showcasing India’s unique strength across the entire textile value chain. India has the resources, talent and capability and the opportunity presented by this mega event will transform India as the preferred sourcing destination for textiles products and will ensure India its due place in terms of branding, he said.

Lalit Thukral, Chairman IGFA said that the Jaipur cluster has always played an important role in India’s apparel exports and the active participation of its members is crucial to success of Bharat Tex 2024. He appealed to the Rajasthan government to cover apparels from Jaipur under ODOP (One District One Product) Scheme. He appealed to the Jaipur cluster exporters to participate in huge numbers as participation will be a huge investment for the future growth of the industry.

Akhilesh Kumar, DDG, Ministry of Textiles made a presentation on Bharat Tex Expo 2024. During his presentation he said that Bharat Tex will demonstrate India’s supremacy in sector to the rest of the world.

Zakir Hussain, President GEAR (Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan) in his introductory remark assured everyone about large scale participation of Jaipur based exporters in this Mega Expo.

Dr. Siddhartha Rajagopal, ED, TEXPROCIL while giving vote of thanks briefly touched upon the textile scenario in the country and also urged exporters to actively participate in Bharat Tex.
