Bambu Lab Introduces H3C Next-Generation Multi-Material 3D Printer
05 November 2026: Bambu Lab has introduced the H3C, its first third-generation desktop 3D printer, featuring an innovative nine-tool Swaptek architecture designed to transform multi-material 3D printing. The new system combines speed, precision, reliability and automated operation, enabling users to produce complex components with different colours, materials and functional properties.
The H3C addresses a major limitation of conventional fused filament fabrication (FFF) printing: the time-consuming process of switching between multiple filaments. Its Swaptek system incorporates nine independent printing tools, each with dedicated filament paths and heating elements, enabling material changes in approximately six seconds.
An intelligent Active Pre-Heat function prepares the next nozzle while printing continues, reducing downtime and material wastage. Automatic tool docking, calibration and bed levelling further simplify operation and improve printing consistency.
Another innovation is the FlexFeed extruder, supporting both 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm filaments. Designed particularly for flexible materials, it enables printing with TPU as soft as 75A, expanding applications in footwear, wearable products, flexible components and soft robotics.
The integrated AMS 3H filament management system accommodates nine spools within a sealed, moisture-controlled chamber. Its built-in drying module operates at temperatures up to 85°C, supporting engineering materials including polyamide, polycarbonate and carbon-fibre-reinforced polymers.
The H3C features a motion platform approximately 40% lighter than its predecessor, enabling acceleration up to 25,000 mm/s² and movement speeds reaching 1,400 mm/s. Its hardened-steel nozzles withstand abrasive materials, while a heated build chamber reaching 65°C and nozzle temperatures up to 350°C support demanding industrial applications.
The printer also enables users to combine different nozzle sizes, colours and material properties within a single production cycle. Applications include detailed prototypes, customised consumer products, functional components and multi-material designs.
Additional accessories include the Bambu Station workstation, E1 Air Purifier and optional monitoring camera.
The H3C AMS Combo was announced at US$2,499, excluding taxes, with availability beginning 3 November 2026 through Bambu Lab’s official store. With its advanced automation, multi-material capabilities and simplified workflow, the H3C represents another development in accessible, high-performance desktop additive manufacturing.
