Archroma to Preview Cartacol APS75 Ultra at LOUPE Americas 2026

29 August 2026: Archroma Packaging Technologies will introduce Cartacol® APS75 Ultra, its patent-pending ultra-high-solids pressure-sensitive adhesive, to North America at LOUPE Americas 2026. The event runs from September 15 to 17 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Archroma says the formulation may reduce drying energy by sending less water through coating lines.

Why Cartacol APS75 Ultra may use less drying energy

Water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives must shed water in heated drying units after coating. Archroma says conventional formulations usually contain about 65% to 70% solids; above that range, viscosity can make them difficult to run on industrial equipment. Its new platform raises the solids content while remaining suitable for machine coating, which means converters have less water to evaporate.

The company says the adhesive targets permanent paper labels and aims to match the performance of established products. Archroma also describes that label segment as roughly 90% of the market.

Dinakar Gnanamgari, vice-president of Innovation and Portfolio Expansion at Archroma Packaging Technologies, said the development team reformulated the base polymer to reach a higher solids content that coating machines can still process. The practical aim is straightforward: reduce the drying load on long coating lines, some of which the company says extend beyond 100 metres and use several drying units.

What will Archroma present at LOUPE Americas 2026 ?

Archroma plans to invite converters to trial Cartacol APS75 Ultra before its commercial launch. The company says its patent application remains pending, so the show appearance is a North American preview rather than confirmation of a market-ready product.

At booth 841, Archroma also plans to present adhesives for tape and label production, plus converting and laminating products for packaging. The event organiser lists LOUPE Americas 2026 for September 15-17 and describes it as the successor to Labelexpo Americas, covering labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons.
