CMAI Managing Committee: Santosh Katariya Re-elected President

08 October 2026: The Mumbai-headquartered Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has re-elected Santosh Katariya as president for a second consecutive term, according to a 6 October 2026 trade report. The CMAI managing committee retains its principal office bearers, maintaining continuity in member services, trade fairs and government engagement across India’s apparel industry.

Katariya thanked the office bearers and managing committee for renewing their confidence in him. He described the previous two years as a period of new initiatives, learning and teamwork, and said the leadership would continue working to deliver greater value to members.

Who is on the CMAI managing committee?

CMAI’s official managing committee directory confirms Katariya as president and lists the following senior office bearers:

Name Position
Rohit Munjal Vice President
Ankur Gadia Vice President
Naveen Sainani Honorary General Secretary
Mukesh Jain Honorary Joint General Secretary
Paresh Vora Honorary Treasurer
Dinesh Nandu Honorary Joint Treasurer
Rajesh Masand Immediate Past President

The trade report also identifies Munjal as chairman of the Fair Sub Committee and Gadia as chairman of the Government Subsidy and CSR Sub Committees. Their responsibilities connect the leadership team with exhibition activity, government support programmes and corporate social responsibility.

Beyond its office bearers, CMAI’s directory lists Anand Golecha of Paras Dyeing and Printing Mills among its committee members. It also identifies Premal Udani and Ashok Rajani as members of the Board of Trustees.

Leadership continuity since 2024

CMAI’s 30 September 2024 election circular records Katariya’s appointment following the association’s annual general meeting on 27 September 2024. The current committee directory associates Katariya with Peppermint Clothing (P) Ltd. in Pune. His re-election keeps an apparel manufacturer at the head of an association whose work spans domestic trade and policy representation.

Trade fairs and practical member support

On its official association profile, CMAI describes its work in government policy engagement, regulatory guidance and garment fairs that connect manufacturers with retailers, distributors and agents. The profile lists ready-made garment manufacturers, exporters, retailers and ancillary businesses among its members. That range gives the leadership responsibilities across production and distribution, rather than a single category of apparel company.

CMAI’s sourcing activities include the Fabrics, Accessories & Beyond Show. Screen Print India’s FAB Show 2026 preview described a platform for fabric and accessory suppliers to meet garment businesses. That preview concerns an earlier event, not a new programme announced with the committee.

CMAI also held an AI masterclass in Mumbai and introduced its CMAI Connect mobile application earlier in 2026. The AI masterclass and CMAI Connect report describes an app intended to give members industry information, event registration and policy updates.

Sustainability and market conditions remain relevant

In his president’s message on CMAI’s website, Katariya discusses the ECO-STITCH Sustainability Conclave and the association’s World Environment Day clothing-upcycling initiative. These activities show that sustainability work predates the latest election.

CMAI’s used-clothing collection initiative encourages responsible disposal and links consumers with reuse and upcycling networks, according to Screen Print India’s report. The campaign focuses on textiles discarded after consumer use.

Commercial pressures remain part of the picture. The publication’s 2026 festive apparel survey coverage distinguishes members’ sales expectations from completed sales and notes concerns about raw material costs and margins. The committee announcement confirms leadership continuity; it does not establish improved profitability, export growth or other business outcomes.
