New Cosmo Films Synthetic Paper Targets Durable Tags and Labels

Designed for flexographic and thermal-transfer printing, the sheet gives converters a tougher material for tags and identification labels that face tearing, moisture, repeated handling or changes in temperature.

What does the new Cosmo Films synthetic paper offer ?

The product adds a heavier-duty option to the Cosmo Films synthetic paper range. Its co-extruded PP base carries a matte coating on both sides, which gives it a paper-like surface while allowing printing on either face.

Cosmo Films lists the corresponding grade as CSP FlexoTuff. The company describes it as a highly tear-resistant sheet made for flexographic and thermal-transfer tags and labels. Garment and airport tags may pass through mechanical handling, while nursery and livestock tags can encounter water, dirt and outdoor conditions. Thermal transfer also allows each item to carry changing information, such as a code, destination, batch number or animal identifier, after the main design has been printed.
