Digital Printing Market to Hit USD $64.21 Billion by 2035

17 August 2026: The global digital printing market is projected to nearly double over the next decade, according to ResearchAndMarkets.com. Report values the market at USD 32.97 billion in 2026 and forecasts USD 64.21 billion by 2035, a compound annual growth rate of 6.248%.

The 175-page report, dated July 2026, covers technology, ink, substrate, printer type, print speed, application, business model, end user, company size, resolution and region.

Growth drivers cited in the study

The forecast rests on automation, personalization and wider use of digital print in e-commerce, packaging, textiles, publishing and commercial work. The authors say pharmaceutical, retail, manufacturing, advertising and commercial buyers are adopting digital systems to cut manual steps, reduce material and ink waste and tighten quality control. Short-run and print-on-demand work is also rising as brands want faster turnaround and more flexible design changes.

Automation, high-speed inkjet, artificial intelligence in workflows and predictive maintenance are listed as efficiency tools. Demand for customized packaging, textiles, labels and marketing materials is another stated catalyst. Sustainability is framed as a stronger purchase factor in packaging and textiles, where lower waste and more responsive production matter.

Competition, segments and regions

Competition, the report says, is focused on print speed, image quality, automation, substrate range, cost and scale. HP and Canon are named among suppliers developing high-resolution systems for commercial and industrial use. A partial company list on the product page also includes Agfa-Gevaert, Avery Dennison, Kornit, Kyocera, Ricoh, Xerox and others.

Major trends highlighted include print-on-demand, short-run production, mass customization, automated quality control and high-speed inkjet. Packaging and textile applications are described as extra opportunity areas as brands shorten product cycles.

By region, the study says North America currently holds the largest share, supported by technology infrastructure, research and development and local demand from packaging, automotive, consumer electronics, advertising, publishing and security print. Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East and Africa are also covered.

Technology segments in the report include electrophotography, inkjet and laser. Ink types include aqueous, dye sublimation, latex, solvent and UV systems. Substrates range from paper and textiles to plastic films, ceramics and glass. End-user groups include marketing and advertising, packaging, printing and publishing and textile and apparel.
