Swift Textiles Breaks Ground at Nava Raipur Textile Park
13 August 2026: Swift Textiles (P) Ltd. has broken ground on a planned INR 235 crore garment manufacturing unit at the Nava Raipur Textile Park in Chhattisgarh. The foundation-laying ceremony was held on June 25, 2026 and the company says the project has the potential to create 4,650 direct jobs.
The Tamilnadu-based company plans to manufacture knitted garments and children’s wear, with production aimed at export markets in Europe and the United States. The development is the first garment manufacturing project to be grounded at the upcoming park, but the factory has not yet begun commercial operations.
A new garment cluster takes shape
The Nava Raipur Textile Park covers about 81 acres and is being developed as a dedicated manufacturing cluster. Planned common infrastructure includes internal roads, water and power systems, substations, effluent treatment, solid-waste management and shared facilities for industrial units.
Two other companies, Punit Creations and Drishti Designs LLP, have also received land allotments at the park. The three proposed units together represent investment commitments of about INR 445 crore and employment potential of more than 11,000 jobs. These are projected figures, not completed investments or current employment.
The park is intended to attract labour-intensive garment production to a state whose industrial base has traditionally been led by minerals and heavy industry. If the planned units move from construction to commercial production, they could broaden the state’s manufacturing mix and create a new base for apparel exports.
Policy support for textiles
The project falls under the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30, which classifies textiles and readymade garments as thrust sectors. The policy offers employment-linked support and other incentives for eligible industrial projects.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the park could generate large-scale employment, particularly for women and young people. The practical impact will depend on construction progress, timely commissioning, worker training and the ability of manufacturers to secure export orders.
For now, the June groundbreaking marks the start of project development rather than the launch of an operating garment unit. Swift Textiles’ planned factory gives the park its first grounded garment project, while the combined commitments from three companies provide an early test of Chhattisgarh’s bid to build a garment manufacturing cluster in Nava Raipur.
