SGAI’s Sushil Golchha Meets West Bengal Commerce & Industrires Minister Tapas Roy

05 October 2026: Sushil Golchha, SGAI’s Vice President (East), met West Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister Tapas Roy in Kolkata to discuss the state’s textile, apparel and hosiery sectors. The account supplied to Screen Print India describes talks on investment and technology adoption, alongside an invitation to Garknit-X Kolkata 2026.

Sushil Golchha discusses textile industry opportunities

Golchha, a partner at Nilesh Enterprise in Kolkata, was accompanied by Pradip Kochar, Managing Editor of Freeman Apparel & Lifestyle Magazine, according to the supplied account. The discussion took place at Roy’s office and focused on closer communication between the state government and industry representatives.

The participants discussed attracting textile, garment, apparel and hosiery companies to explore manufacturing, sourcing and investment opportunities in West Bengal. Technology adoption and manufacturing expansion were among the topics raised.

Industry publications presented during the meeting

Roy received copies of Freeman’s Apparel Manufacturers Directory (All India) and Indian Apparel’s fortnightly newsletter. The account describes the publications as sources of manufacturer information and updates on India’s apparel and textile industries.

Golchha presented Roy with a bouquet, while Kochar presented a dupatta. The exchange accompanied the discussion of how industry associations, manufacturers, suppliers and government representatives could maintain closer contact.

SGAI’s regional representation and technical work

SGAI’s official website identifies Golchha as Vice President (East). SGAI’s stated objectives include representing screen printing businesses, sharing technical knowledge and providing a platform to discuss industry problems with government and related bodies.

Golchha’s work in eastern India was also recognised during his Eastern Print Pack felicitation. Screen Print India’s February 2025 report records the honour presented at the exhibition’s November 2024 inauguration and describes Nilesh Enterprise’s supply of inks, materials and machinery for screen and textile printing.

The association’s technical activities provide further context. Its April 2026 printing seminar in Mumbai covered precision printing, stencil technology, automation and business software, bringing together printers, suppliers and educators.

Nilesh Enterprise supplies textile and graphic printing inks, mesh, squeegees, emulsions and garment-decoration materials. Its range also includes printing machinery and consumables, connecting its day-to-day business with the manufacturing and technology topics raised during the meeting.

Garknit-X invitation concerned the September 2026 edition

Tapas Roy was invited to attend the inauguration of Garknit-X Kolkata 2026 as Chief Guest. The organiser’s event listing gives the dates as 4-6 September 2026 at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata. Its product profile includes knitting, sewing and embroidery equipment, screen and digital textile printing machines, and finishing technology.

Nilesh Enterprise has previously participated in the exhibition. At Garknit-X Kolkata in 2022, it presented a sequin embroidery machine for garment decoration. That earlier participation connects the company’s printing and embellishment work with the exhibition’s machinery focus.
